Man dead, woman critically injured in midair collision above flight park
DRAPER — Police said a man was dead and a woman was critically injured following a mid-air collision above the Salt Lake County Flight Park.
Lt. Mike Elkins said crews responded after 5:00 p.m. on a report of the mishap.
“There had been an unfortunate mid-air collision involving a paraglider carrying two individuals and a hang glider,” Elkins told KSL TV.
According to Elkins, officers found the man and woman from the paraglider badly injured at the scene.

One ticket in Michigan won the first Powerball jackpot drawing of the year, winning an estimated $842 million. The estimated cash value for the drawing is $425.2 million, according to the lottery.
The winner bought the ticket at the Food Castle in Grand Blanc, Michigan, located just outside Flint, the Michigan Lottery said. The person has yet to reach out to the lottery.

After a rare False Claims Act (FCA) trial, a St. Paul federal jury has returned a verdict for the government in United States, ex rel. Kipp Fesenmaier v. Cameron-Ehlen Group, Inc., No. 0:13-cv-03003 (D. Minn.).
The jury found that ophthalmic products supplier, Cameron-Ehlen Group, Inc., doing business as Precision Lens, and its owner, Paul Ehlen, are liable for 64,575 false claims and $43,694,641 in single damages. With the FCA’s mandatory treble damages and statutory penalties, the verdict could result in a judgment of more than $841 million.
