When the Camaro was first introduced in 1967 both the RS and SS packages were available. The SS meant either the 350 in³ or L35 396 in³ engine was fitted along with special striping and hood scoops. It was often combined with the RS styling package which included hidden front headlights. Of them all, the rarest was the RS/SS L35 convertible which was the version used for the Indianapolis 500 pace car.
